As the nation continues to open up after the Covid restrictions, the UK is expected to experience the fastest economic growth in more than 70 years. According to the Bank of England, the UK economy will experience its fastest growth in more than 70 years in 2021 as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
This year (2021), the economy is projected to grow by 7.25%, with increased government spending helping to reduce job losses. It does, however, follow a 9.9% contraction in 2020, the largest in 300 years.
The Bank of England anticipates that the turnaround will pick up steam as high streets reopen, paving the way for a mini-spending boom. The rapid vaccine rollout in the United Kingdom is also expected to raise consumer interest. A growth rate of more than 7% this year will be the fastest since official records started in 1949.
